New Albany Branch Opens

From 2 July, TWL's new Albany branch will open it's doors.

Located at 2 Tawa Drive, the new facility will represent a significant improvement in support to local customers.

"TWL Albany will mean faster access to parts and equipment for the local transport industry" said marketing manager Nick Maslin. "The industry stands still for no one, time is money and we (TWL) have a key role in keeping our clients businesses moving".

TWL Albany will be fully stocked with it's core heavy truck & trailer product range, and will include its extensive 'one-stop' offering of light trailer, auto-electrical, safety product and workshop parts and equipment.

"It is great to back on the shore, it is a diverse and unique marketplace with a real leaning towards our light trailer and marine product ranges, which is to be expected in this boating mad part of the world."

TWL Albany is managed by Branch Supervisor, Hayward Taylor.

The unique and challenging transport geography of the Auckland region sees TWL well positioned with additional branches in Penrose, Wiri and Pukekohe.

HELLA Euroled White / Red Interior Courtesy Touch Lamp
Building on the durability and power saving benefits of EuroLED® single LED lamps, EuroLED®Touch provides not only white light, but also red light to help maintain night vision.

Lighting control is beautifully simple. Touch the red pad for red light, the white pad for white light. Hold your finger on the pad for more than two seconds and the lamp will cycle through four dimming levels. Release your finger at the light level required. The lamp can also be remotely operated with any standard ON/OFF/ON momentary switch. Light levels are ‘remembered’ by the lamps circuitry, even when a vehicle’s batteries are turned off.

HELLA LED Ring Stop / Rear Position Lamp
The new Hella LED Ring Lamp is suitable for use with 60mm diameter lamps (example shown at left). The unit utilises 16 LEDs for rear position function and 8 LEDs for stoplight function (i.e. stop lamp illuminates only 1/2 of the ring). Featuring a clear lens the unit is available in 12 volt only.

Bright Future for Safety Lighting

In November 2006 TWL launched its extended range of safety lighting products.

Category manager Robert Johnstone says the extended safety lighting range will offer customers superior performance, choice and versatility in their day-to-day business.

“Our primary goal has been to provide safety lighting solutions that will create a safer working environment for our customers” says Robert.

“This has been achieved by introducing new technologies, new product formats and options, and essentially offering a complete package that meets the individual operator’s requirements.”

New technologies such as LED and integrated systems has been a major step forward according to Robert.

“Many in the industry are well aware of the benefits of LED now. LEDs offer superior product life, significantly lower maintenance and less pressure on vehicle electrical systems. We believe in quality and confidence in the products that we offer & therefore much of our LED range is backed by a 5 year warranty”.

The LED format has been adapted to suit various applications including beacons, lightbars, strip lighting, grille, dash, surface mount and covert lamps.

“The most significant thing for us has been quality. The Ecco, Vision Alert, Hazard System and Hella brands offer high-quality products & superior performance”.

Robert believes the major step has been to provide integrated & compatible systems for customers.

“If you take a fire truck for example, we can provide the full range of safety lighting components & provide a total system that works in a synchronised manner. The system can also operate in various modes dependent on the status or situation the vehicle is in.”

TWL staff have been working very closely with various transport operators including leading fleets, contractors, port & airport authorities, and emergency services.

“Once again, our goal is to provide customised solutions no-matter what the working environment, fleet size or vehicle type.”
