They’re Coming to You

2 April 09

New TWL’ Parts & Service vans have been warmly embraced by customers says TWL national manager Scott Holt.

“The vans have proved a real winner” said Scott. “The capacity of these vans provides for much faster and effective parts accessibility for our customers – right to their doorstep”.

The 3.5 tonne Fiat Ducatos, stocked to capacity with transport spares and workshop products, have been launched in West Auckland, Albany, Hamilton and New Plymouth over the past six months. The vans are also set-up with mobile eft-pos and linked to the TWL parts computer system via Blackberry.

“In Auckland for example, the van very much compliments our branches in Albany, Penrose and Wiri. Mobile parts and equipment really works there given the challenging roading environment”.

“With this especially popular move we will certainly look at developing our van fleet further” said Scott.

EXPO a Winner

15 March 09

The four-yearly Transport and Heavy Equipment Expo returned to Mystery Creek with extremely positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors.  The total number of attendees over the three days was 13,222.

Major sponsor of THE Expo, New Zealand Truck and Driver General Manager Dave Jackson said “the enquiry level across the board has been exceptional.  Feedback to us has been that THE Expo is a good quality show and the exhibitors are extremely positive.”

His comments were echoed by the TWL team attending at the show.”We received some very strong lines of enquiry for our heavy transport, braking and welding products on show, and very good sales directly on the stand” said TWL’s northern sales and operations manager Mike Brears.

“The event was consistently strong over all three days of its duration. It was very pleasing to see key people from throughout the industry attend in-force despite what are clearly trying times. It was especially great to see a very strong South Island contingent make the trip north for the event” said Mike.

Successes for TWL during the Expo included a great deal of interest in the company’s light trailer braking solutions, Keylok heavy-transport brake lining system, VDO on-board weighing systems and Lincoln-Electric welding equipment.

Hamilton Moves to Te Rapa

1 February 09

The TWL Hamilton team move to Maui St, Te Rapa has been described as a real ‘energiser’ according to branch manager Dallas Millard.

“The move has significantly improved our proximity to our transport customers right on the cusp of SH1 north. We’re very customer-friendly now and we are getting a fantastic response” says Dallas.

“The open-plan ‘warehouse’ style of the branch really delivers a much better snapshot for customers of what we do" adds Dallas. "Visitors to the branch can now get amongst our total product range, see the extent of what we do - and that’s great for business all-round.”

The development in Hamilton follows closely on the heals of a new branch for the Tauranga team in late 2008. This also applied the open-plan style of integrated showroom and warehouse which has had a very positive response in the Bay of Plenty.
